STEP 1: REACH THE CLOSEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON MAINLAND
If you travel by plane, the closest local and international airports are Split, Dubrovnik and Brač airport, and then you need to take a local bus, rent a car, taxi, ferry or motorboat to Hvar.
SPLIT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The closest city to Hvar island with an international airport is Split. The national airline, Croatia Airlines, operates flights to Split from all the major airports in Europe: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dubrovnik, Düsseldorf, Edinburg, Frankfurt, Gothenburg, London, Munich, Osijek, Paris, Podgorica, Pristina, Pula, Rim, Sarajevo, Skopje, Vienna, Zagreb and Zurich.
During high season, other legacy airlines and various low-cost carriers also operate direct flights regularly to Split from a number of European cities: Barcelona, Berlin-Schonefeld, Cologne-Bonn, Dortmund, Dresden, Dublin, Edinburgh, Hamburg, London-Stansted, Leipzig, Lisbon, Marseille, Munich, Nice, Prague, Stuttgart, Zurich, Zweibrücken.
DUBROVNIK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Dubrovnik international airport is located 20 kilometers south of Dubrovnik city center and is almost the southernmost point of Croatia. Numerous airlines operate out of this airport, including some that offer cheap flights to Dubrovnik. The national airline, Croatia Airlines, operates flights to Dubrovnik from the major airports in Europe: Rome-Fiumicino, Zagreb, Amsterdam, Athens, Berlin-Tegel, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Nice, Split, Osijek, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion, Venice-Marco Polo, Vienna, Zürich.

BRAČ AIRPORT
Brač airport also called Bol airport is situated on the Croatian island of Brač close to Hvar. This airport is used for commercial passenger flights, mainly charter traffic from Europe during the summer season.
The national airline, Croatia Airlines, operates flights to Brač only from Zagreb and Graz. During high season, other legacy airlines also operate direct flights to Brač from a number of European cities: Graz, Innsbruck, Vienna, Düsseldorf, Leipzig/Halle, Linz, Malmö.
STEP 2: HOW TO REACH HVAR
FROM SPLIT AIRPORT TO HVAR
Plane to Ferry
The Split ferry terminal is reachable from Split Airport by bus, taxi or arranged transfer. Plane to Motorboat
From the moment you board the Motorboat at the Port of Divulje (a 600 meters straight path walkway from Split airport) you do not need to worry further. You will be escorted almost at the doors of your hotel since all of the hotels in Hvar are located marina front. FROM DUBROVNIK AIRPORT TO HVAR
For all means of transportation, you will firstly need to reach Dubrovnik city. From Dubrovnik city you can reach the city of Hvar directly by Kapetan Luka ferry (seasonal) or motorboat ([email protected]) or you can choose to travel by car all the way up to Drvenik or Split and take the correspective ferries to Sucuraj (Drvenik) and Stari Grad (Split) or catamaran to Hvar (Split).
FROM BRAČ AIRPORT TO HVAR
Public transportation from Brač Airport to Bol is not organised however a taxi service is available during airport opening hours. From Bol the only options to reach Hvar are by ferry to Jelsa or motorboat directly to your Hvar city hotel. ([email protected]).
