Brief history
During the 1920s and 1930s, the public beach was the center of Hvar's daily tourist life, a place to have fun and rest.
Beach Club Hvar pays respect to its immense history and heritage, which can be seen throughout the entire décor and details included in this year’s revamp.
The history of heritage Beach Club Hvar dates to 1927, when it was built according to the project of a Hvar architect, engineer Silvio Sponza (1889-1960), and made from pure and shiny white Hvar stone. The public beach had cabins, showers and a restaurant. It was often called the most beautiful public beach in the Adriatic, according to the brochures at that time. In this period, one of the great accomplishments in Hvar tourism was the construction of this public beach.
